Operates equipment safely. Maintains gear, equipment, and facility. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.NOTE (1): Please submit official copies of college transcripts with application if applicable.NOTE (2): A skills demonstration may be required as part of the interview. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Graduation from High School or GED.Experience:Fish and Wildlife Technician I(a): No experience required.Fish and Wildlife Technician I(b): Two years of relevant experience required related to the specific duties of the position.Fish and Wildlife Technician II: Four years of relevant experience required related to the specific duties of the position.Licensure:Must possess or be able to obtain, within thirty days of employment, a valid class "C" Texas driver's license.NOTE: Retention of position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS:Experience (FWT I(b) and FWT II):Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelorand#8217;s, Masterand#8217;s, or PhD in Fisheries Biology, Marine Biology, or closely related field may be substituted for two years of required experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience:Two years of relevant experience.Experience navigating vessels in shallow bay systems.Experience working on vessels in the Gulf of America or other large bodies of water.Experience constructing, using, and maintaining specialized fisheries-sampling gears such as seines, nets, trawls, and oyster dredges.Experience with basic boat and outboard motor repair and maintenance.Licensure:Possession of U.S.C.G.
