Field Support Specialist (NDT Technician Level 2)
Job Description:
Must work in a confidential manner to ensure confidentiality of employee and project files.
Performs administrative duties and may assist in composing routine correspondence and coordinating activities.
Assists in filing, copying, scanning and faxing documents.
May answer telephone calls, take messages and transfer calls.
Checks quality of own work.
May assist in coordinating meeting arrangements and catering services for department functions.
May order project or department supplies and maintain supply cabinet.
Assists in distribution of incoming and outgoing documents.
Keeps abreast of project and department systems, services relevant to area of responsibility, and project process improvements, procedures, and practices.
Processes a variety of procedural steps in accordance with well-defined procedures and guidelines.
May assist in data entry using project databases within assigned department.
Must be punctual and maintain a dependable level of attendance in accordance to project work rules.
Adheres to all safety procedures
Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) using various methods, including Penetrant Testing. (PT-Visible/Solvent), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT-Visible Dry Powder) and Positive Material Identification Testing (PMI) in alignment with project specifications and industry standards (e.g., ASNT, API, AWS, ASTM).
Interpret and evaluate test results, documenting findings in site welding database software and provide recommendations for further actions.
Support quality control efforts by collaborating with engineering and construction teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians, providing guidance on NDT techniques and procedures.
Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure accuracy and readiness for testing procedures.
Participate in inspections and assessments, contributing to root cause analyses and corrective actions, as necessary.
Always ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
Prepare and maintain detailed records of test results, equipment maintenance, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in NDT preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in non-destructive testing, particularly in PT, PMI, and MT methodologies.
Certification in PT, MT, and PMI from a recognized body (e.g., ASNT Level II or equivalent).
Proficiency with NDT equipment and techniques, including familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and industry practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data accurately.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in varied environmental conditions.

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed on site.

Previous industrial field experience is a plus.
