This Position reports to: Field Service Manager In this role, you will provide direction and assistance to the workgroup in order to meet assigned objectives. Responsibility includes performing installation,troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment. The work model for the role is: Hybrid; Vancouver, WA; Oregon area This role is contributing to the Electrification Service Division. Your role and responsibilities: Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment inrespective area; Power Delivery includes transformers, switchgear, OCBs, CircuitBreakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, Relays, Power Management Controls systems andother Power related equipment & controls. Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors including projectmanagement, lead site engineer or site project manager. Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing jobstatus reports, reports to customers, time sheet, and expense sheets on a complete timely,and thorough basis. Plan, organize, and perform multifunctional field assignments in designated areas ofexpertise, directing the work of other field engineers and craft labor as required, in atimely and efficient manner. Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability. Perform administrative functions in a timely manner that are associated with your work; such as writing technical reports, ordering necessary materials, securing quotations,preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, expense tracking sheets,and cost control activities. Such tasks must be completed on a timely, and thorough basis. Exercise good judgment in controlling costs and expenditures of company funds. Protect the company's capital investments by properly safeguarding and maintaining thatequipment for which responsible. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 additional years of related engineering / field experience). Minimum of 5years of field engineering experience. Demonstrated & ability to build strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, with strong business acumen. Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required. Ability and willingnessto possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license. ABB will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
