Job Description
The Lead Automation Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and reliability of products through the design, development, and execution of automated tests. This position involves working collaboratively with development and product teams to streamline testing processes and contribute to continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure product quality.
Collaborate with development and product teams to streamline testing processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle.
Develop clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Conduct performance and functional testing.
Utilize microcontrollers and hardware testing tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
Employ Agile software testing methodologies.
Work with web technologies for web application testing.
Use SQL/NoSQL databases for testing purposes.
Implement Continuous Integration (CI/CD) processes and tools.
Utilize version control and defect tracking tools.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including hardware and firmware testing.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, or Bash scripting.
Experience with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or BBB.
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium and Appium.
Familiarity with engineering lab equipment including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI/CD) processes and tools like Jenkins.
Familiarity with version control tools like GIT and defect tracking tools like JIRA.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with Agile software testing methodologies.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
The position requires working onsite in Broomfield five days a week initially, tapering down to three to four days a week after the onboarding period.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Broomfield, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
