Job Title: CNC Swiss Machinist

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC Swiss machines to support long-run production work in a clean, modern machining environment. You will ensure that all parts meet strict quality specifications, assist fellow machinists as needed, and contribute to expanding advanced machining capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines, including models such as L12, L20, and A20, to produce precision components for long production runs.

  • Perform complete part inspections at the machine using micrometers, calipers, and other hand inspection tools to verify that all products meet quality specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are machined to exact dimensions and tolerances.

  • Navigate and use the machine control system, including editing programs, making offsets, and adjusting parameters as needed to maintain part quality and productivity.

  • Assist other machinists with setups, troubleshooting, and production support to keep machines running efficiently.

  • Perform in-process checks and document inspection results as required to support quality standards.

  • Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and communicate any concerns or improvement ideas to the team.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and operational procedures in the machine shop.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of CNC Swiss machining experience.

  • Proven ability to set up and operate CNC Swiss machines independently.

  • At least 1+ year of experience inspecting parts at the machine using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for precision machining work.

  • Hands-on experience with CNC Swiss machining platforms such as Citizen and similar equipment.

  • Ability to navigate machine controls, including editing programs and adjusting offsets.

  • Strong understanding of Swiss machining processes and production workflows.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precision parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ year of Swiss lead or programming experience is a strong plus.

  • Experience working with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.

  • Background in CNC Swiss setup, including tooling, offsets, and process optimization.

  • Experience in dry machining or multi-axis (7–8 axis) Swiss machining environments is beneficial.

  • Ability to collaborate with other machinists and support a team-oriented production environment.

  • Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving machining processes.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean, modern machine shop equipped with brand-new, up-to-date CNC Swiss machines and advanced ventilation systems that provide high-quality air and a comfortable working atmosphere. The facility focuses on precision medical and advanced machining work, including dry machining and multi-axis (7–8 axis) Swiss machining. You will work around Citizen and similar CNC Swiss equipment with contemporary controls such as Fanuc, in a professional, safety-conscious environment that emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and the use of precision inspection tools.

This is a Permanent position based out of Brooklyn Park, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $72800.00/yr.
