Hours: 35 hours/week, Sun.-Thurs. 7 hours/day, 5:00 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.

Job Duties: Perform general agricultural labor and fieldwork associated with crop production, including the following: plant, transplant, cultivate, hoe, weed, thin, prune, irrigate, harvest, and handle crops; load and unload produce; field cleanup; and general farm maintenance related to crop production.

Work will be performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, pollen, and dirt. Duties may vary throughout the season depending on crop conditions, weather, and workload.

Workers will report to and depart from the main field operating shed at 10708 Jefferson Hwy N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55369 at the beginning and end of each workday and for daily breaks. Workers will perform job duties at multiple agricultural field locations owned or operated by the employer within the area of intended employment, including agricultural fields identified using parcel identification numbers (PIDs) where street addresses are not assigned, including: 0611921220001, 0611921210002, 0611921240002, 0611921230002, 0611921320006, and 0711921210003. Fields with assigned addresses include, but are not limited to: 10708 Jefferson Hwy N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55369; 10608 Jefferson Hwy N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55369; and 8901 101st Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. All work will be performed within the counties listed: Hennepin, Anoka.

Minimum Education Required

No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Must be able to work the entire contract period. Must be able to work long hours, with an anticipated average of approximately 60 hours per week, with variable hours depending on crop conditions, weather, and workload, including early mornings, weekends, and peak harvest periods.

Must be able to safely work around farm equipment and machinery. Training will be provided.

Must be able to perform physically demanding agricultural labor, including repetitive movements, prolonged standing and walking, repetitive bending, frequent stooping, kneeling, and lifting and carrying items up to 75 pounds.

Must be able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

$16.00 / Hourly

Additional Compensation

Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Depending on work and crop conditions, the employer may offer workers performing certain tasks during certain periods of the season an opportunity to earn an incentive bonus over and above the guaranteed rate of pay set forth above. If offered, such incentive bonuses will be based on the quantity and quality of work performed and offered to all workers working on the activity(ies) and during the time period(s) when such incentive bonuses are offered. If an incentive bonus is offered, the fact that the bonus is to be offered and the manner in which the bonus will be determined, will be explained to all affected workers before the start of any work period or activity subject to such a bonus. Incentive bonuses are offered at the sole discretion of the employer, and no bonus or opportunity to earn a bonus is promised or guaranteed.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
