Title-Senior Machine Learning Engineer I, Search RetrievalJob Duties: Use the latest in machine learning and information retrieval to improve company search pipelines. Use concepts like graph neural networks, random walk based graph recommendation engine, deep neural dense retrieval models powered by Transformers to advance the state of the search retrieval pipeline. Work closely with fellow ML engineers, full-stack engineers, applied scientists, and product managers, in cross-functional teams to develop & test large scale experiments. Optimize ML models to meet latency SLAs at the scale of Etsy production traffic and launch live A/B experiments to test our hypotheses. Work in a cross-functional team to prioritize projects which help achieve our product targets. Build, deploy, test and maintain scalable machine learning models by applying the latest concepts in research and industry. Run various A/B experiments to improve search relevance. Work closely with our product manager to help build roadmaps which range between a few weeks to 6-12 months Remote position.REQUIREMENTS: Masters in Statistics, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of relevant experience. Experience to include: using machine learning frameworks and technologies including TensorFlow/TFX, PyTorch, and Kubeflow for model development, training, and deployment in production environments; designing and implementing machine learning-powered large-scale information retrieval systems, utilizing technologies such as Apache Solr or comparable search engine frameworks; writing analytical SQL queries to investigate API usage patterns, assess data coverage and quality, and inform engineering decisions; using data visualization tools such as Looker to present insights effectively; Java and Python; and API design and development.
