Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle APEX Developer to support application development efforts for a large-scale public sector client. This role focuses on building and enhancing enterprise applications using modern Oracle APEX frameworks, with a strong emphasis on UI customization, backend database development, and system integration.
You will work in a collaborative, multi-developer environment contributing to mission-critical applications, including systems supporting HR and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Oracle APEX (21.3+)
• Customize user interfaces using APEX Universal Theme, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Develop backend database components including PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and complex SQL queries
• Build and integrate RESTful services using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
• Work with views, materialized views, and database links to support application functionality
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot application and deployment issues
• Follow established architecture standards, coding practices, and development guidelines
• Participate in team-based development with multiple developers working in parallel
Requirements
• 4+ years of experience with Oracle APEX development
• Strong experience with Oracle APEX version 21.3 or higher
• Hands-on experience with HTML and CSS for UI customization within APEX
• Experience working with APEX Universal Theme and built-in styling frameworks
• Strong JavaScript experience, including jQuery and Oracle JET
• Proficiency with Oracle databases (11g/12c+), including SQL and PL/SQL development
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs using ORDS
• Understanding of JSON, XML, and DOM structures
• Experience working in team-based development environments
Nice to Have
• Experience with Oracle Forms, Reports, or OBIEE
• Experience with data modeling tools such as ERWIN
• Experience with ETL processes, data migration, or performance tuning
• APEX plug-in development experience
• Experience working with HR systems or legacy system modernization
