Touro University Lighting Designer in BROOKLYN, New York
Design, develop & support architectural & landscape lighting designs across a variety of project types, including residential, workplace, commercial, hospital, and aquatic environments. Work closely with design teams from different disciplines to engage in discussions regarding design preferences, budget, purpose & function of environmental performance requirements, & other factors. Prepare designs, detailed lighting layouts, luminaire selections, & lighting control strategies. Create technical documentation including site plans, ceiling plans, mounting details, luminaire & lamp schedules, electrical control riser diagrams, control schematics & narratives, and other documents. Conduct analytical photometric studies, tests, & calculations. Assist with LEED documentation including energy modeling & daylight access analysis. Create visual presentation materials including renderings, drawings, diagrams, models and lighting mock-ups. Conduct research & sources for luminaires, finishes, materials & fabrication methods and coordianate procurement with supply chain vendors. Direct contracts in the final aiming & adjustment of luminaires. Utilize Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Sketch-up, Enscape, Vray, Dialux, AGL COMcheck, hand sketches & other rendering tools Support development of proprietary productivity workflows & tools utilizing Python, HTML & Javascript. Job requirements:Master's + 2 years experienceMust have architectural lighting design experience in residential, workplace & hospitality settings. Experience with Revit, Rhino, AGI, COMcheck & LEED documentation processes required.
