Experienced Maintenance Crew Leader Horticultural Expertise Required We are looking for a skilled horticultural expert that is ready to lead and inspire. $30 to $40 hour, based on experience
What You Will Do:
Lead and support a crew to maintain and elevate rooftop gardens and green roofs at the highest horticultural standards Share hands-on horticultural expertise in planting, pruning, soil care, pest management, irrigation, and lighting Mentor and train crew members, raising the bar for quality across every site Partner with Account Managers to plan, document, and execute site needs Communicate positively and professionally with clients, representatives, building staff, parallel trades, and peers Troubleshoot on-site challenges with efficiency and creativity Keep vehicles, tools, and materials organized and ready for use Collaborate across company divisions to support innovation and growth What You Bring:
Minimum 5 years of professional horticulture experience in landscape maintenance (urban or rooftop strongly preferred) Pesticide knowledge and experience (apprentice, technician, or applicator license strongly preferred) A strong work ethic, professionalism, and leadership mindset Comfort working outdoors in all conditions and safely on rooftops Experience with irrigation systems, low-voltage lighting, and sustainable landscape practices A clean driving record and ability to drive a truck in NYC Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Horticulture or related field Green roof and NYC-specific experience NYC SST 40-Hour Certification / OSHA Training Why Choose NYGR?
