POSITION DETAILS

The CUNY Explorers Administrative Coordinator will support the development, implementation and oversight of the CUNY Explorers initiative at the campus. They will coordinate approximately 4 to 6 “Campus Visit Guides” students who are recruited, hired, and trained to provide an educational experience for a cohort of visiting 6th to 10th grade students and their chaperones.

• In conjunction with the Central Office program team and DOE staff, arrange school visits and work with campus and University offices to provide effective interactive program activities.

• Recruit and supervise CUNY students to serve as Visit Guides on CUNY campuses.

• Monitor and maintain an online scheduling system that will allow schools to select a visit date and provide all relevant contact information; follow up with schools as needed to ensure a successful visit.

• Implement an orientation, training and ongoing professional and leadership development for Visit Guides.

• Coordinate the program’s administrative and operational activities, including processing payroll for Visit Guides.

• Under the supervision of the campus administrator, liaise with relevant college departments with regard to program logistics (space, student meals, workshop leaders, campus security, etc.).

• Collect and retain data for report outcomes to relevant college leaders.

• Maintain a database of staff and school information; document and submit to Central Office summaries of visits and observations.

• Participate in University-wide meetings as needed.

• Support related administrative functions in the host department.

Work alongside Office of Enrollment Management on the planning and logistics for Virtual Registration. Collaborate with the CUNY Immigration Center, Disability Services and Academic Support to provide enrollment information, deadlines and resources. Involved in the planning, executing and hosting of large Admissions events such as Admitted Students Day. Partnered with Academic Affairs and Workforce to help support our off-site location offering credit bearing courses. Attend and table at recruitment events as well as facilitate conversations with Community Based Organizations (CBO’s) and private colleges to consider partnerships in establishing an enrollment pipeline. Support students in the admissions process, and enrollment, through the recruitment office.

The Administrative Coordinator reports to the Director of Recruitment or his/her designee.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience in higher education, enrollment management, or recruitment desired. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish desired.

  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.

  • May supervise office staff and student workers.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

$56,720 - $63,003
