The Children's Village Youth Development Supervisor in Bronx, New York
Salary: $25.99 Hourly
Position Overview:
The Youth Development Supervisor ensures an effective therapeutic milieu is established and ingrained in all aspects of the program through the application of best practices in their work with youth and families. The primary role of this position is to provide overall direct supervision of the Youth Development staff (YDC’s) and ensure effective and efficient program delivery, as well as ensuring the safety of youth and staff. The YDS must strive to establish a healthy relationship with each staff member and youth in the residence. He/she will provide guidance, modeling, and opportunities for teens to learn social, independent living and parenting skills (if applicable). The YDS must act as a mature and positive role model at all times in order to create and/or enhance the overall therapeutic environment. The YDS will work closely with other team members and ensure positive collaborations with community schools, families, and other community resources as needed.
Position Qualifications:
Associates degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice or related degree with a minimum of two years supervisory experience working in a residential setting. Some Child Welfare experience preferred. Knowledge of adolescents and child development. Candidate should have some experience with group work, family work, and a commitment to working with Runaway Homeless Youth as well as pregnant and parenting adolescents and their families.
