Honeywell System Engineer I - Anthem Flight Controls in Brno, Czech Republic

Honeywell’s Flight Systems team is building Honeywell Anthem —a next‑generation avionics platform redefining flight across Business Aviation, Regional Jets, General Aviation, and Urban Air Mobility. This is your chance to join a cutting‑edge aerospace program where bold ideas take off fast.

We’re looking for a Junior System Engineer ready to learn, explore, and contribute to Automatic Flight Control Systems (AFCS) . You’ll help develop key functions like Autopilot , Autothrottle , Flight Directo r, Trims, and Yaw Damper. You’ll work closely with an experienced team and grow alongside a brand‑new product line .

An excellent opportunity for an emerging systems or aerospace engineer — including recent graduates committed to developing their career in aerospace systems engineering.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

Your Mission in AeroSpace

  • Perform the design and development of automatic flight control systems, ensuring they meet project and customer requirements.

  • Model-Based development using MATLAB/Simulink .

  • Conduct validation and verification/testing of the system to ensure compliance with requirements and aerospace industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components into cohesive systems.

To succeed in this mission, you’ll bring…

  • A strong technical launchpad — a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Avionics, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Industrial Automation.

  • Clear communication in English and the confidence to collaborate across a fast‑paced, global environment.

  • A self‑propelled mindset — proactive, independent, motivated, and ready to take initiative when the mission calls for it.

  • Analytical sharpness and calm under pressure, able to dissect complex problems and stay steady in demanding situations.

  • Global readiness — high integrity, eligibility for export‑license requirements, and the willingness to travel abroad for training, meetings, and customer support.

We Value

  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools used in systems development, modeling and simulation.

  • Knowledge of scripting language (e.g. Python)

  • Previous experience with one or more of the following: systems engineering, systems verification, model-based design, requirements management, or aerospace industry (e.g. during an internship/part-time job/diploma thesis)

  • Basic understanding of aircraft/avionics functions and design
