Honeywell Advanced Systems Engineer - Anthem Flight Controls in Brno, Czech Republic

We are looking for an Advanced Systems Engineer that would join our Flight Systems – Honeywell Anthem team. You will be responsible for Automatic Flight Control Systems (AFCS) development and testing – specifically contributing to the development of one or more of the following functions - Flight Guidance / Flight Director, Autothrottle, Autopilot, Trims, Yaw Damper.

The final product will be serving to customers not only in Business, Regional but also Urban Air Mobility or General aviation segments. There is an opportunity for you to have significant footprint on AFCS sub-system level development, cooperate with Lead system engineer and senior system engineers in key technical decisions and guide junior system engineers.

We’re looking for a professional with proven systems engineering experience who is enthusiastic about working in aerospace industry.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the design, development and integration of automatic flight control systems ensuring they meet integrated avionics system and customer requirements

  • Responsibility for the AFCS development at the level of AFCS subsystems – including planning, reporting, technical team coordination and communication

  • Model-Based development using MATLAB/Simulink

  • Conduct validation and verification/testing of the system to ensure compliance with requirements and aerospace industry standards

  • Collaboration with domestic and international teams and customers including possible ground or flight test activities

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Avionics/Aerospace Engineering/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering/Control Systems/Industrial Automation

  • 4+ years experience with systems development of aerospace, automotive, rail, or similar safety-critical systems

  • Experienced with model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink (or similar tools used in systems development, modeling and simulation)

  • Experience with requirements development and usage of configuration management tools (e.g. DOORS or DOORS NG)

  • Experience with requirements verification and validation

WE VALUE

  • Basic knowledge of aircraft/avionics functions and systems

  • Previous experience with Flight Control and/or Flight Guidance systems

  • Advanced knowledge of systems/software development lifecycle

  • Knowledge of aerospace system/software development standards (SAE ARP 4754A (B), RTCA DO-178, DO-331)

  • Experience with scripting language (e.g. Python)

  • Must meet any applicable Export License conditions in terms of nationality for the given project.
