The Opportunity:
Join KBR as a Project Controller and play a key role in supporting the financial performance and successful delivery of projects. You will partner with Project Managers to manage budgets, track costs, and provide accurate reporting and forecasting across the project lifecycle.
You will gain broad exposure to project financials, cost control, and governance, while contributing insights that support decision-making and improve project outcomes. This role offers the chance to develop your expertise in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in either Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne.
The successful candidate must be eligible to hold a Baseline AGSVA security clearance.
Responsibilities:
Manage project budgets, track costs, and analyse variances to ensure effective cost control
Support forecasting, financial reporting, accruals, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes
Assist with invoicing, accounts processes, and workforce planning updates
Maintain and validate project WBS and cost codes, ensuring accurate financial data
Prepare project status reports and provide performance insights to stakeholders
Support bid estimation, contract changes, and project audits
Ensure document control, compliance (including SOX), and accurate record keeping
Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification in a related field (desirable)
Proven experience in project controls or a similar role, ideally within the defence industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and time management skills
High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
