Looking to take the next step in your career?Hatch is seeking a highly motivatedLead Civil Engineerto join our established Civil team.This is a key leadership role where you will provide technical direction across a range of civil site development projects, while supporting team capability, quality outcomes and strong client relationships. The role suits someone who enjoys combining hands‑on technical input with people leadership and client engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership across civil engineering disciplines including roads, earthworks, stormwater drainage, building site works, and water and sewerage reticulation

  • Leading and reviewing civil designs to ensure high‑quality, compliant project deliverables

  • Acting as a client-facing technical lead and representing Hatch’s values and standards

  • Supporting project delivery from early studies through to detailed design and construction phases

  • Mentoring and developing civil engineers and supporting performance management outcomes

  • Contributing to continuous improvement of civil design practices and processes

  • Collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions

About you

You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution and bring demonstrated experience in a similar senior or lead civil role. Your background will include strong design capability across bulk earthworks, site grading, surface water management, access and haul roads, and earth structures. You are committed to health and safety outcomes, comfortable providing technical authority, and confident engaging with clients. Experience working on industrial and mining projects will be highly regarded, along with a collaborative leadership style and a desire to continue building team capability.
