$122,044.00 - $183,065.00
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Directs and supervises staff and resources to ensure efficient and effective operations. Oversees implementation and ongoing maintenance of processes to support Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), in support of established governance best practices. Responsible for various methods and practices intended to improve the overall project, program, portfolio (PPM) maturity of the organization. Coaches and mentors project, program and portfolio managers and operational team members on methodologies and techniques used in PPM, resource and capacity planning. Collaborates with the Project Portfolio Office team members and service line leaders within IT to continuously improve the tools and methodologies used in program and project management, operational enhancements and resource utilization across the department. Identifies opportunities for staff training and mentoring and engages the organization to ensure continual feedback and identify emerging methodology and alignment needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors the overall portfolio by providing meaningful information, analytics and recommendations to identify and improve portfolio performance and trends. Creates performance reporting. Oversees implementation and ongoing maintenance of Strategic Portfolio Management system. Establishes relevant portfolio management practices consistent with the organization's existing practices to maintain portfolio viability and delivery. Utilizes organizational change management techniques to roll out new PPO tools and functionality across IT and the enterprise. Develops and tracks key organizational metrics to inform leadership team. Makes moderate to significant improvements in systems, processes or products to enhance performance level of area.
Creates and fosters relationships with relevant clinical and operational teams. Communicates with stakeholders within and outside of own area and may include external communications external to the department. Influences others on policies, practices and procedures within area of expertise. Conducts regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions. Contributes to monthly project management training.
Manages a midsize to large team of project and program managers in support of execution of strategic programs across the organization, including affiliates across the region. Leads career development efforts for direct reports and mentors the Portfolio Management team. Provides coaching and mentoring to standardize best practices across all team activities, relative to PPO processes. Champions for continuous improvement. Establishes clear goals, opportunities and career trajectories for team members. Allocates and assigns personnel and technical resources. Maintains hiring, termination, promotion, performance and reward authority with manager review and approval.
Responsible for one or more elements of an operating or capital program budget. Plans, manages and participates in relevant capital and operating budgeting processes. Maintains an ongoing awareness of project resources in relation to budget plan parameters and rate of spend for use in decision making and influence in assigned area.
Keeps abreast of industry standards, practices and new technologies to enhance key stakeholder satisfaction with Information Technology Services. Collaborates with team on new policies, interpretation, updates and the setting of new department wide initiatives. Makes recommendations on employee engagement, motivation, retention and growth of staff.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience required
Master's degree preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years in a supervisory capacity required
Experience leveraging enterprise project and portfolio management toolsets required
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Experience facilitating training sessions preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create clear, concise and prompt communications required
Strong follow-through skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously required
Exhibits managerial courage and willing to take calculated risks and speak up for the best interests of the team required
Highly organized with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload and manage resources and time effectively required
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both written and verbal required
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including with executives, physicians, and nurses, with the ability to discuss technical information in a meaningful way with persons of varying levels of expertise preferred
Ability to demonstrate objectivity, sensitivity, and a balanced perspective regarding employee concerns and organizational issues preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI within 1 year required
Agile certification (ACP, DA, or CSM) upon hire preferred
Prosci change management training upon hire preferred
