Quality Assurance Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Engineer - External to join our Quality Assurance team. The role involves conducting all external Quality Assurance functions, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), applicable regulations such as FDA, USDA, and EMA, as well as relevant company policies. The position provides Quality Assurance oversight for material suppliers, service providers, and contract laboratories.
PAY - $43/hour
Responsibilities
Ensure suppliers meet industry and company standards set forth by regulatory agencies and internal SOPs.
Conduct supplier qualification in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist in developing and maintaining audit schedules and perform audits as needed.
Review and approve manufacturing and laboratory deviations, batch documentation, Out-of-Specification, Out-of-Trend, and change requests from suppliers.
Trend performance metrics for suppliers and report regularly to identify potential shifts in supplier performance.
Track post-audit improvement actions and report regularly on implementation progress.
Perform effectiveness audits of implemented improvement actions.
Identify and present evidence of quality and compliance risks to QA Management, including Quality Agreements, registration batches, stability, Process Validation, and product launches.
Assist with management of Supplier Corrective Action Requests related to third-party products.
Support CMO/CPO changes, review batch records, and validation, and generate supplier metrics for quality system management reviews.
Essential Skills
Quality assurance expertise in GMP environments.
Proficiency in auditing and internal audits.
Experience with batch record review for drug products.
Supplier quality assurance and management.
Knowledge of regulatory bodies such as FDA, USDA, and EMA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS Degree in Sciences or related field or equivalent combination of experience.
5+ years in pharmaceutical or food/feed ingredient QA in a GMP manufacturing environment.
Experience with supplier quality functions, including supplier qualification, maintaining Supplier Quality Agreements/metrics, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
Familiarity with food quality/safety programs, PCQI certification or FSMA is a plus.
Work Environment
The QA Engineer will work in a cubicle area inside an office building connected to the manufacturing facility. The role is primarily office-based, with no requirement to enter the manufacturing area. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:30, with some flexibility on start and end times. After the initial training period, and if the contract is extended, there may be an option for one day of remote work per week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
