Divine Childcare Center Lead Teacher in Bridgeport, Michigan

Position: Lead Teacher Location: Divine Childcare Center, Bridgeport, MI Employment Type: Full-time Hours: Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (exact schedule to be discussed)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Lead Teacher to manage classroom instruction, support student development, and maintain compliance with childcare standards. This is a leadership role requiring strong communication skills, initiative, and a love for early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 3--5
  • Supervise and guide assistant teachers in daily activities
  • Observe, document, and assess child progress and behavior
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding student progress and classroom updates
  • Ensure classroom adheres to state licensing requirements and center policies
  • Foster emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related field) preferred
  • Minimum of 1--2 years' experience as a lead or co-lead teacher in a licensed childcare setting
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Strong classroom management and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Michigan childcare licensing regulations
