Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Responsibilities You will determine shortest and safest routes to and from destinations. You will respond to emergency calls, complaints, and other calls for service during watch. You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation. You will warn and/or use force to restrain and apprehend violators. You will issue military citations for violations of laws and regulations. You will monitor unusual situations and conditions through personal or electronic surveillance aids. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of general experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education. Education obtained must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education, applicant must: Successfully completed one year of study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 6 semester hours of study pertinent to police work. OR Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one-year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience equal to one hundred percent. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to 6 months of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal to 100 percent. SUBSTITUTION OF TRAINING FOR EXPERIENCE NOTE: Successful completion of a Federal, State, county, or municipal police academy or comparable training course that included at least 40 classroom hours of instruction in police department procedures and methods, and local law and regulations, may be substituted for a maximum of 3 months of specialized experience or 6 months of general experience. Additional Information CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must be 18 years of age. Incumbent must satisfactorily pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) investigation. As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, you must be able to train and wear protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots, and gloves. This position does not meet the definition of Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) position and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity IAW 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H. You must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton, and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment or Relocation) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
