Group Home Manager – Residential Services | Full-Time | Ocean County, NJ
Compensation: Annual salary of $61,713.60
Schedule: Full-time position with a flexible schedule to meet program needs, including evening and weekend availability as required. Participation in an on-call rotation (approximately one week per month) is required, with a stipend provided for any call-in coverage.

As a Residential Group Home Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a residential program, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, and ensuring high-quality services for the individuals we serve. In this role, you will also guide, support, and develop the staff team that helps carry out this mission.

As a Group Home Manager, you play a vital role in bringing this mission to life each and every day.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for planning, supervising, managing, and directing the overall operation of the group home, including:
Leadership & Staff Oversight
Interview, train, supervise, and evaluate residential staff and Assistant Managers
Ensure all team members remain current with required trainings and employment requirements
Review and approve staff timecards on a regular basis (minimum twice weekly)
Develop and maintain staffing schedules at least two weeks in advance
Coordinate coverage, assignments, and daily staff responsibilities
Provide ongoing support to staff while promoting a collaborative and professional work environment
Participate in the agency’s on-call rotation as scheduled
Individual Support & Program Coordination
Support the development of life skills that promote independence and personal growth
Facilitate opportunities for recreation, socialization, and community participation
Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs)
Track and document progress toward individual goals and behavior support objectives
Ensure access to necessary medical, dental, psychological, pharmaceutical, and behavioral services
Encourage and support individuals in advocating for their own needs and preferences
Compliance, Safety & Documentation
Maintain a safe, secure, and supportive home environment at all times
Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with applicable regulations, including:
Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)
Department of Human Services (DHS)
Department of Children and Families (DCF)
Other state/federal regulatory bodies
Complete timely and thorough incident reporting
Cooperate fully with audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews
Program Operations & Fiscal Responsibility
Oversee program-related expenditures, including budgeting and financial monitoring
Identify and coordinate alternative funding or support resources when appropriate
Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure household and program needs are met
Protect confidentiality and uphold the rights of all individuals served
Communication & Leadership
Maintain effective communication with staff, families, guardians, caseworkers, healthcare providers, and external agencies
Demonstrate sound judgment, strong problem-solving abilities, and professional conduct
Uphold and model the mission, values, and standards of the agency in all aspects of daily operations

Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid NJ Driver’s License with no more than 5 points
Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
Previous experience working in a group home setting
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role (lifting, assisting, mobility support)
Flexibility to adjust hours based on program needs (evenings/weekends as required)
