The Arc of Ocean County Assistant Program Supervisor - Residential Services in Brick Township, New Jersey

Assistant Program Supervisor - Residential Services | Full-Time | Ocean County, NJ

Compensation: Starting at $24.50/hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $28.50/hour including shift differentials and overtime

Schedule: Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, Monday-Wednesday 3:00 PM-11:00 PM (flexible based on program needs) | 40 hours weekly

Are you a motivated leader who wants to make a meaningful impact? In this role, you’ll help guide a residential team while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and quality of life.

As an Assistant Supervisor in our Residential department, you’ll partner with program leadership to ensure smooth daily operations, foster a positive environment for staff, and promote person-centered care within group homes and supervised living settings.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Provide guidance and supervision to team members when the Program Manager is unavailable

  • Facilitate regular check-ins and support for part-time staff

  • Contribute to employee evaluations and ongoing coaching efforts

  • Assist with staff scheduling and coordination of required trainings

Resident Support & Program Coordination

  • Help individuals build daily living and social skills

  • Encourage participation in community and recreational activities

  • Support the creation and implementation of individualized service plans

  • Attend team meetings and collaborate on resident progress

  • Assist in implementing behavioral supports and monitoring outcomes

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment

  • Coordinate access to medical, dental, and behavioral care services

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely documentation

  • Follow all regulatory and licensing requirements

  • Participate in audits, reviews, and inspections as needed

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Help manage household budgets and expenses

  • Ensure timely completion of reports and required paperwork

  • Communicate effectively with team members, families, and stakeholders

  • Take on additional responsibilities to support program success

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license (no more than five points)

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

  • Capability to meet physical job requirements, including assisting with mobility

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and adjust hours as needed
