$16.00 an hour. There are shift differentials for working off shifts.

FLSA: non-exempt

Shift: 1^st^, 2^nd^, or 3^rd^

SUMMARY:

Assist and support printing operations by providing material handling function to move and prepare materials for use on wide web flexographic printing presses and perform other departmental and facility wide tasks in a team environment. Operate powered industrial trucks equipped with forks/clamps to defined standards. Prepare finished materials for shipment. Perform cleaning and minor equipment/machinery repairs or adjustments. Assist with printing press operations as needed.

Additionally, this position must promote an environment that fosters safety, teamwork, open communication, quality, and productivity in alignment with the New Excelsior Statement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.) Operate powered industrial trucks in conformance to requirements. Move controls to drive pit and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.

2.) Move levers or controls that operate powered industrial trucks to load, unload, transport, stack, or place material.

3.) Pull/select appropriate base material as required by job specification. Move base material to printing press staging area.

4.) Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around warehouse/facility.

5.) Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.

6.) Position lifting devices under, over, or around rolls, loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material/products for transport to designated areas.

7.) Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels. Use computer to enter information, as well as create labels.

8.) Perform routine maintenance on vehicles such as changing batteries. Inspect equipment/machinery to identify issues or defects.

9.) Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.

10.) Assist printing press machine operators with press operations such as cleaning and material prep, etc. as needed.

11.) Notify supervisors or other personnel of problems.

12.) Perform other miscellaneous job duties; department or facility tasks and related functions as needed.

For example, facility wide cleaning.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.)

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent training desired.

2.)

Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment desired.

3.)

Knowledge of raw materials/inventory, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

4.)

Job requires being thorough and taking care while completing tasks, especially following job specifications, monitoring quality, selecting materials as well as safety, etc.

5.)

Watching gauges, dials, indicators to ensure proper machine function. Listening/watching for noises or signs of mechanical issues.

6.)

Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

7.)

Ability to quickly respond (with finger, hand, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture, etc.) when it appears.

8.)

Ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in speed/direction of a moving object or scene.

9.) Visual color discrimination; ability to see details at close range and at a distance.

10.)

Ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.

11.)

Basic English verbal; oral and written communication skills.

12.) Basic mathematics and computer skills

Ability to demonstrate respect and open communication.

Work in team-oriented environment and be flexible and self-managed in accordance with the New Excelsior Statement.

14.) Safely operate machinery, material handling equipment, hand tools, etc. according to training and company policies and procedures.

15.) Work 8,

10 or 12 hour shift (dependent upon production requirements) in a primarily indoor manufacturing environment.

Overtime and/or weekend work is required as needed.

Work pace is subject to machine speed, machine issues, job deadlines, etc.

Environment includes working with/around industrial chemicals including: solvents for cleaning; printing inks; and food grade adhesives.

Wear personal protective equipment as required.

16.) Ability to work from a standing position and maneuver around equipment and to consistently lift up to 50 lbs. and manipulate up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation. Climbing up and down on a powered industrial truck.
