Lead Quality Technician

What You’ll Do

Lead & Support the Team

  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to Quality Technicians

  • Assign tasks, balance workloads, and ensure coverage across shifts

  • Train and mentor team members on testing, procedures, and compliance

  • Review work for accuracy and ensure quality standards are consistently met

  • Partner with the Quality Manager to escalate issues and drive solutions

  • Lead by example with strong food safety and GMP practices

    Ensure Quality & Compliance

  • Support and maintain compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, and other regulatory standards

  • Act as the backup SQF Practitioner when needed

  • Assist with internal audits and facility inspections

  • Help maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Support allergen control, calibration, and documentation processes

    Testing, Inspection & Verification

  • Perform and oversee testing such as:

  • ATP and sanitation verification

  • Allergen and environmental testing

  • Product quality testing (moisture, density, performance)

  • Inspect incoming materials and verify supplier documentation (COAs)

  • Coordinate external lab testing and maintain sample records

  • Support mock recalls and traceability processes

    Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate quality records and logs

  • Update and manage QMS documents

  • Ensure proper handling of nonconforming products

  • Maintain supplier documentation and ingredient records

    Collaborate Across Teams

  • Partner with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams

  • Communicate quality expectations and findings clearly

  • Work with suppliers to ensure materials meet specifications

    What You Bring

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience in quality or manufacturing

  • Experience in food, dietary supplements, or a regulated environment preferred

  • Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the facility

  • Lift up to 15lbs regularly and up to 60lbs occasionally

  • Comfortable with bending, lifting, and working at heights when needed
