Groundskeeper at Breezy Point Resort

Breezy Point International, Inc. d/b/a Breezy Point Resort, located in Breezy Point, MN, seeks twenty-three (23) full-time, temporary Groundskeepers who will be responsible for maintaining property and golf course grounds using hand and power tools and equipment. Will perform any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation. Groundskeepers will also be responsible for other grounds and landscaping maintenance and improvements as needed such as raking the beach, emptying the beach garbage cans into the dumpster, maintaining all of the common ground areas of the resort (such as lawns, paths, gardens, sidewalks, deck areas, and patio areas). With respect to the common areas, Groundskeepers will also responsible for lawn care (such as mowing, edging, watering, fertilizing, and seeding), plant care (such as watering flowers and shrubs, planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, trimming, mulching, weeding flower boxes and flower beds, seasonal cleanup, cleaning up fallen twigs, leaves and branches) and debris removal (such as picking up trash and leaves, from grounds, paths, around sidewalks, deck areas, and patio areas, and emptying trash receptacles, cleaning out firepits and splitting firewood for the guests). Will use string trimmers, lawn mowers, rakes, shovels, chainsaws, power pruners, backpack blowers, gloves and safety gear, hand shears, and axes for splitting firewood for guests.
As the Petitioner has floating boat docks, Groundskeepers will also be responsible for putting out floating boat docks in the spring by taking the docks to the shoreline and pushing them into the bay by boat, and securing the floating dock sections to the posts in the lake. In the fall, Groundskeepers will unsecure the floating boat docks from the posts in the lake and float them to the shoreline for winter storage, keeping sections together and fastening them to stay in shallow water by the shoreline for the winter using winches, jacks, and wheel kits to lift and maneuver heavy sections.
Will report directly to Grounds Maintenance Manager and Golf Course Maintenance Manager at Breezy Point Resort.
Three (3) months of experience maintaining grounds at a high-end hotel, resort, or private club required.
Applicant must complete pre-employment background check at employer’s expense.
All worksites located in Breezy Point, MN. Travel throughout this area is required. Transportation between worksites is provided via the company’s shuttle. The worksite locations are within 5 miles from the main address of the resort.
Daily transportation to and from worksite is provided.
On-the-job training is provided.
Wage: $21.15 - $22.15 per hour, paid bi-weekly. Overtime is available at $31.73 - $33.23 per hour.
Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 5:00am to 12:00pm; 8:00am to 3:00pm; and 6:00am to 1:00pm. Shift hours may vary.
A single workweek will be used to compute wages due.
Optional housing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Housing includes utilities, laundry and Wi-Fi. If used, cost of housing of $115.38 - $150.00 will be deducted bi-weekly from employee’s paycheck. A refundable security deposit of $100 will be deducted from the employees first paycheck and will be refunded in their last paycheck at the employer’s sole discretion based on condition of housing at departure.
Employees receive 50% off meals.
All deductions from paycheck required by law will be made.
If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable outbound transportation and subsistence costs during the last workweek. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by government (excluding passport fees).
