Breckenridge Public School District is currently seeking dynamic and personable individuals to fill the following position for the 2026-2027 school year:

Position Title:

ECFE Preschool Teacher / Parent Educator / Program Coordinator

Location:

Breckenridge, Minnesota

Position Type:

Full-Time (1.0 FTE) School Year or Year-Round (adjust as needed)

Position Summary:

The ECFE Preschool Teacher/Parent Educator/Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-quality Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programming. This position integrates preschool instruction, parent education, and program leadership to support the development of young children and strengthen families within the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Preschool Instruction

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Minnesota Early Learning Standards
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain compliance with licensing and school readiness requirements

Parent Education

• Plan and facilitate parent education sessions as part of ECFE programming
• Support families in understanding child development, behavior, and learning
• Build strong relationships with families through communication and outreach
• Provide resources and referrals to community services as needed

Program Coordination

• Coordinate ECFE programming, including scheduling classes and staff
• Assist with program planning, enrollment, and marketing
• Maintain accurate records for reporting (MARSS/ECFE reporting, attendance, fees, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with Minnesota ECFE statutes and district policies
• Collaborate with administration on budgeting and program development

Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with early childhood staff, special education, and community partners
• Participate in district early childhood initiatives (School Readiness, Preschool, Screening, etc.)
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings

Qualifications:

Required:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in one or more of the following:
  • Parent Education
  • Early Childhood Education (BirthGrade 3)
  • Early Childhood Special Education (preferred but not required)
• Knowledge of child development (birthage 5) and family systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Experience teaching in ECFE and/or preschool settings
• Experience facilitating parent education groups
• Experience with program coordination or leadership
• Knowledge of Minnesota ECFE funding and reporting requirements

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary based on district teacher contract or ECFE salary schedule Page 31 in Master Agreement listed on our district website https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fZTVSGNdIJkDN7iAzMwtaYpdig4aYwXU/view
• Benefits per master agreement (health, dental, TRA, etc.)
• Extended contract days may apply (if coordinator duties are significant)
