Our client, a global leader in medical technology, is seeking a Tech 3, Mechanical Engineering to join their team. As a Tech 3, Mechanical Engineering, you will be part of the Product Development / R&D Engineering Department supporting Product Development Engineers, Project Leads, and the Laboratory Team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent documentation skills, and collaborative teamwork abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Product Development Technician

Location: Brea, CA

Pay Range: $33–$41/hr

Workplace Type: On site

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM

What’s the Job?

  • Execute designed test protocols and conduct routine and complex mechanical testing in an R&D/medical device environment.

  • Gather, maintain, format, and analyze technical data; produce engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, schematics, block diagrams).

  • Provide technical support to engineers, including equipment qualification (IQ/OQ), calibration, and sample conditioning.

  • Support prototype builds, test setups, and general lab operations including maintenance, safety procedures, and chemical/sample handling.

  • Document test results per GLP/GDP standards and communicate findings to engineers and project leaders.

What’s Needed?

  • 8+ years of technician experience in a regulated laboratory, R&D, or medical device environment.

  • Experience following written procedures, executing test protocols, and maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Proficiency with lab equipment, calibration, safety practices, and technical data analysis.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project teams, and cross‑functional groups.

  • Preferred: BS in a technical discipline + 2–4 years of R&D or lab experience; ability to mentor junior technicians.
