Description
The Project Director is responsible for the managerial leadership and direction of Global Practice Project execution strategic business initiatives, client strategy and development and large team project management. The Project Director will lead projects in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.
Manage development and execution of overall Project strategic business initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.
Provide direction and support business development efforts in identification and vetting of prospective clients and projects. Responsible for business development activities aligning with business goals.
Provide leadership to the Project team; direct and coordinate the Department ensuring efficient and cost-effective utilization of staff.
Manage Projects related business development efforts.
Oversee the development of department tools and workflows to increase efficiency in project execution for Department.
Direct oversight and management of Projects budget and expenditure of funds.
Achieve stated targets and standards for Projects financial performance.
Present monthly financial information to leadership including project revenue forecasts.
Support strategies for cross-selling engineering services across the organization.
Responsible for ensuring alignment and support of Regional Office project management development, quality control and resource coordination.
Recruits, hires, develops, and retains outstanding employee-owners.
Responsible for conducting performance evaluation for selected department or direct reports.
Responsible for interpreting policies, purposes and goals of the organization to department personnel.
Adheres and responsible for compliance with Burns & McDonnell Quality Control program.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
Responsible for diversity initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related degree from an accredited program and 13 years relevant consulting experience, preferably in the engineering or construction industry or project management.
Expert experience in client and business development.
Expert experience in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.
Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
Excellent planning and analytical skills.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
Compensation
$315,000.00-440,000.00 Yearly
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
