IBM z/OS Comms Server & Network Technical Support Professional in BRASILIA, Brazil

Your role and responsibilities

As a SW Premium Support Professional for z/OS Communications Server - Network on mainframe, you will be part of a team that provides technical support to dedicated IBM clients assisting on problem determination, corrective actions and recommendation, collaborating with the customer as well as other IBM teams globally to drive problems to a solution, mainframe network availability, mitigating issues and aggregating resilience to the environment.

You will be responsible for recommending and implementing new improvements to the environment reviewing procedures and processes to improve reliability, uptime, and serviceability. You should exhibit strong problem-solving skills, a desire to face new and unique challenges each day, and strong communication skills.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Science, or related field, and/or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Acting in a respectful and professional manner to represent IBM to its high-profile clients.

  • Working in high pressure, dynamic situations with a large degree of autonomy.

  • Focuses on troubleshooting and supporting z/OS Communications Server software issues.

  • Manages and implements z/OS TCP/IP and VTAM protocols for secure communications using AT-TLS, IPSec and IDS.

  • Analyze and resolve complex incidents.

  • Troubleshooting data collection: TCPIP traces,Packet tracing, VTAM traces e dumps.

Sysplex and Parallel Sysplex.

z/OS proficiency: JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, JES2, REXX, SMF/RMF.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Client facing technical support professional experience.

Experiences working with a global team.

  • Additional and desired skill:

  • Configuration Assistant for z/OS Communications Server.

  • z/OS Container Extensions (zCX) knowledge.

  • IBM z Netview for managing z/OS Communications Server.

• • OMEGAMON for Networks on z/OS.
