Bozeman Health Trauma Registry (Casual Call, Variable Shift) in Bozeman, Montana
Position Summary:
The Trauma Registry retrieves, abstracts, and enters clinical and demographic information into the trauma registry database in accordance with current American College of Surgeons and State of MT coding guidelines. The incumbent is responsible for reporting quality and system issues to the Trauma Coordinator that affect the integrity of the Trauma program.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Trauma Registry Course completion within 1 year of hire
2 years’ clinical experience in healthcare (Emergency Department or acute care preferred)
Preferred: College or vocational training in healthcare
Preferred: Montana Licensure (Emergency Medical Technician)
Preferred: Prior work experience in medical coding or trauma registrar
Preferred: Experience with healthcare quality system
Essential Job Functions:
Organize and maintain data systems, which conforms to the standard of the trauma registry operation
Process patient data as established by the American College of Surgeons and the State of MT
Analyze patient data to determine opportunities for improvement
Run reports off of Report Writer to assist trauma coordinator to identify trends and statistics
Chart analysis and completion for submission of data to the National Trauma Data Bank and state of MT central registry
Monthly attendance at Trauma Committee and take notes
Assist in community prevention and education activities such as Stop the Bleed and Driver’s Educations programs

Advanced math skills; ability to collect, analyze, interpret and/or present complex data.
Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
