Position Overview
A growing construction management firm in Bowie, Maryland is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery across multiple construction initiatives. This role works closely with Project Managers to coordinate project documentation, subcontractor communication, and day-to-day administrative functions that keep projects running smoothly.
The Assistant Project Manager serves as a key point of coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors while helping manage project documentation, schedules, and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Documentation
Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and administrative support.
Prepare and manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Maintain accurate submittal logs and project documentation records.
Prepare meeting agendas, distribute meeting minutes, and track follow-up items.
Contract & Vendor Management
Assist with preparation of subcontractor and vendor agreements.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors regarding project schedules, documentation, and requirements.
Request and track bids, pricing proposals, and subcontractor qualifications.
Project Compliance & Administration
Support the team in obtaining permits, bonds, and insurance certificates.
Review construction drawings and project specifications to ensure documentation accuracy.
Identify conflicts or discrepancies in project documents and escalate recommendations for resolution.
Construction Operations Support
Assist with construction administration tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Support project teams with field coordination when needed.
Maintain organized project records and ensure compliance with project standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
1+ year of experience supporting construction projects or construction administration.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with Primavera P6 or construction scheduling software is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Requirements
Must be willing to apply for a security clearance due to government project requirements.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and support field activities when necessary.
