Job Summary

The Temporary Collections Assistant supports the care, organization, and use of the Archaeological Collection at the CU Museum of Natural History. This position provides hands-on experience in museum collections management, 3D technology data processing, and day-to-day collections activities.

Who We Are

The mission of the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History is to contribute to the knowledge of the natural world and human history through research, teaching, and public education.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Upload 3D scans and data to MorphoSource.

  • Manage metadata standards for data migration.

  • Interface with project team to define data needs, project requirements, and deliverables.

  • Prepare and manage workflows.

  • Support staff with collections-related tasks.

  • Assist with NAGPRA Compliance.

What You Should Know

  • There will be 15-40 hours of work per week.

  • This is a flexible 50-hour temporary summer position.

What We Can Offer

The hourly rate for this temporary position is $30.00.

  • Recent graduate of the Museum & Field Studies Program at CU Boulder.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and follow protocols.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Interest in archaeological collections, 3D data management, and museum work.
