SciTec Senior Software Platform Engineer in Boulder, Colorado

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.
We are seeking a Senior Software Platform Engineer to serve as a key technical contributor on a Platform as a Service (PaaS) team supporting application integration at a customer site. This role focuses on building, operating, and evolving platform capabilities that enable development teams to reliably deploy, operate, and scale applications in containerized environments.
Responsibilities
Serve as a platform engineering contributor within an integration team at the customer site
Support the integration and deployment of applications into containerized PaaS environments
Design and implement deployment strategies across development, test, and operational systems
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting secure and repeatable application delivery
Integrate development tools for:
Artifact management
Automated testing
Code quality and security analysis
Troubleshoot deployed applications and platform services; perform root-cause analysis
Work closely with other engineers and integration team members to resolve technical issues
Interface with customer stakeholders to support platform operations and application onboarding
Contribute to platform documentation, standards, and best practices
Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions
Support continuous improvement, automation, and platform reliability efforts
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Active DoD security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or a related role
3+ years of experience administering Linux systems
2+ years of experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
2+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Experience with artifact management and version control systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems
Ability to work 100% on-site at a customer location
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to work independently while collaborating with a team
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar CI/CD platforms
Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts
Experience with artifact repositories such as Artifactory
Experience integrating systems in government or secure environments
Familiarity with platform security and compliance considerations
Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
Previous experience in customer-facing technical roles

The pay range for this position is $146,000 - $175,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
