SciTec IT Project Manager in Boulder, Colorado

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute the design, procurement, and installation of a data center supporting mission-critical systems. This role is responsible for driving schedules, budgets, risks, and cross-functional coordination across infrastructure, facilities, vendors, and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong project leadership and accountability, understands data center and IT infrastructure concepts well enough to ask the right questions, and can effectively manage technical teams and vendors without serving as the technical implementer.
Responsibilities
Plan and manage end-to-end data center delivery projects, from design through installation and operational readiness
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies
Coordinate activities across infrastructure, networking, systems, security, facilities, and vendor teams
Lead procurement activities, including requirements definition, vendor coordination, tracking orders, and managing delivery timelines
Track and manage budget, costs, and capital expenditures related to data center hardware, software, and services
Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies
Drive accountability by ensuring teams meet commitments, timelines, and quality expectations
Facilitate regular status meetings, reviews, and stakeholder communications
Prepare and deliver project status reports, schedules, and briefings to leadership and customers
Manage change control, scope adjustments, and impact assessments
Ensure project activities align with security, compliance, and organizational standards
Support installation, integration, testing, and transition to operations
Maintain project documentation, decisions, and action items
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience managing IT or infrastructure projects
Demonstrated experience managing projects involving:
IT infrastructure or data centers
Hardware and software procurement
Multi-vendor coordination
Strong understanding of data center and enterprise IT concepts, such as:
Compute, storage, networking, and virtualization
Power, cooling, and rack layouts (conceptual level)
Proven ability to manage technical teams and vendors without being the technical implementer
Strong organizational, scheduling, and risk management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to drive accountability and resolve issues across cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Ability to work on-site as required for installation and coordination activities
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
Experience delivering data center build-outs, refreshes, or relocations
Experience working in government, defense, or regulated environments
Familiarity with capital project management and asset tracking
Experience managing projects using Agile, hybrid, or waterfall methodologies
Project management certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent
Experience coordinating with facilities, construction, or electrical teams
Strong vendor management and contract coordination experience

The pay range for this position is $133,000 - $158,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
