BAE Systems Engineering Manager III - Space Vehicle Technical Management in Boulder, Colorado
Job Description
As a Space Vehicle Technical Engineering Manager on the Space Vehicle Systems team, your focus will be on serving as a Spacecraft and Space Vehicle technical expert, responsible for providing wide-ranging technical oversight and guidance to the group across all program phases, from bid and proposal through operations and sustainment. You will lead and execute Space Vehicle architecture development for the department and also be the main point of contact with the Strategic Business Units (SBUs) for technical questions or needs they may have. This role requires effective collaboration across SBUs and within Engineering.

What You ll Do:
Provide technical leadership and direction regarding technology and capability development needed to ensure we continue to remain competitive and can respond to customer needs.
Support all applicable programs across various execution phases, which may include tasks such as: proposing technical solutions, conducting and participating in peer reviews, participating in anomaly resolution, customer interface and offering technical oversight and guidance.
Serve as primary technical point of contact for the new business spacecraft architectures.
Mentor and train members of the Space Vehicle Systems team.
Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with Engineering peers, internal stakeholders, and external customers.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Deep knowledge of spacecraft, space vehicle systems and architectures a recognized expert in this field.
Experience with program execution across a variety of mission areas and customer sets.

Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
