Actalent Utility Distribution Project Manager in Bothell, Washington

(Job Description)

A large reputable utility company in Bothell, WA is currently hiring for a Project/Program Manager to lead multiple residential power construction projects and align them under a broader program vision within the energy and utilities sector. The PM will plan and manage schedules from project inception through delivery, oversee budgets, track performance against success metrics, and drive continuous improvement in cost, schedule, and quality. The PM will collaborate with internal teams and external power utility customers, manage risks, and provide clear communication of program roadmaps, status, and issues to stakeholders.

Pay - $55/hr. - $65/hr.

Location - Bothell, WA (Hybrid Schedule)

Contract Duration - 24-Month Contract (Potential to convert to FTE)

(Responsibilities)

  • Manage multiple residential power construction projects for new and existing power utilities on a daily basis, ensuring alignment with overall program goals.

  • Plan and implement detailed project and program schedules from initiation through completion, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed.

  • Define, maintain, and communicate the overall program roadmap, including milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

  • Track and report program status, development issues, risks, and success metrics to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.

  • Identify, assess, and monitor areas of risk across projects, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on cost, schedule, and performance.

  • Continuously seek and implement opportunities to improve cost efficiency, schedule adherence, and overall program performance.

  • Build, manage, and track project and program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with business objectives.

  • Work closely with established power utility customers to deliver construction projects that meet technical, schedule, and service expectations.

  • Manage and strengthen internal cross-functional relationships to better support external power customers and program objectives.

  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer service throughout the entire construction life cycle for all customers.

  • Facilitate communication and coordination among multiple projects and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent execution and issue resolution.

  • Manage stakeholder engagement and satisfaction by setting expectations, providing regular updates, and addressing concerns promptly.

  • Provide valuable feedback to Engineering and related departments on all projects prior to management approval, helping to refine designs and plans.

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, business conditions, and internal processes and practices that may impact component projects or the overall program.

  • Ensure that project and program documentation, reporting, and governance processes are followed and kept up to date.

(Qualification Requirements)

  • 5-8 years of relevant project or program management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing utility and power construction projects, including distribution and public improvement work.

  • Proven experience in residential power construction project management.

  • Strong experience in project and program budget management, including planning, tracking, and reporting.

  • Experience managing stakeholder communication and engagement across cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to plan, implement, and monitor schedules from project inception through delivery.

  • Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and managing program and project risks.

  • Strong skills in facilitating communication and coordination among multiple projects and teams.

  • Experience working within the energy, power, or utilities sector.

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to Engineering and technical teams on project plans and designs.

  • Comfortable submitting to a drug test (including THC) upon onboarding.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
