Job description
As a fully owned subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Electronics & Defense Australasia Pty Ltd (SEDA) delivers and supports a range of products, including high-performance optronics and inertial navigation equipment. Headquartered in Sydney, SEDA brings local expertise in integrating optronics and navigation systems for air, land, and naval platforms used by the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces.
Objective of the ICT Business Partner Role:
The primary objective of the ICT Business Partner is to ensure the reliability and security of IT resources, thereby supporting the productivity and efficiency of all employees and the broader organization.
Please note that this is a part-time role, working three days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the ICT Business Partner will contribute to the following activities:
Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues, both on-site and remotely.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other ICT equipment.
System Maintenance: Assist with the installation, configuration, upgrade, and update of IT systems and software.
Inventory Management: Track and manage ICT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
User Account Management: Support account creation, password resets, and access permissions for employees.
Documentation: Maintain records of ICT incidents, solutions, and procedures.
Network Support: Assist in monitoring network performance and providing basic network setup support (e.g., device connections, Wi-Fi support).
Security Compliance: Help ensure compliance with ICT security protocols and company IT policies.
Training: Provide basic IT training and guidance to employees as needed.
Support IT Projects: Participate in IT-related projects or rollouts under supervision.

Candidate skills & requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in ICT or a related discipline.
Initial professional experience through internships, academic projects, graduate roles, or equivalent exposure to ICT systems and frontline ICT support.
Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and common office software.
Exposure to the rollout of ICT projects, hardware, and software.
Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role (a plus).
Certifications such as CompTIA ITF+ or Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals (optional but advantageous).
Awareness of quality management systems and regulated environments.
Interest in defence, aerospace, or high-technology industrial sectors.
