Skanska Vice President - Asset Management in Boston, Massachusetts
If you want to feel the satisfaction of really making a difference, with every decision you make, you’ve come to the right place.
That’s because, at Skanska, we don’t just develop office and multi-family buildings. Or build bridges. Or data centers. We make a positive impact in people’s lives – shaping the way we all live, work, and connect, now and for generations to come - and we want you to do it together with us.
We are seeking an experienced leader to join us as the Vice President – Asset Management to establish and guide an enhanced asset management function, bringing strategic, technical, and organizational expertise in‑house. This newly created temporary role (anticipated role duration 3 – 5 years) will focus on defining best‑practice processes, optimizing governance and reporting structures, and ensuring the organization meets industry standards. While not involved in daily property operations, the position will provide high‑level oversight and advisory support to regional teams, ensuring alignment with investor objectives and corporate priorities.
The leader will partner cross‑functionally with Business Generation, Operations, Property Management, and Development teams to shape short and long‑term asset strategies, assess portfolio performance, and influence executive decision‑making. Responsibilities include evaluating asset health, reviewing budgets and annual plans, benchmarking performance, and advising on hold/sell strategies. A core component of the role is improving data‑driven decision‑making through streamlined workflows, enhanced reporting processes, and clear variance analysis, while also supporting transparent investor and tenant communications.
In addition to technical expertise, the position requires a strong mentor and change agent who can train regional teams, guide our Real Estate Development professionals, and drive adoption of consistent standards across markets. The ideal candidate is an experienced multifamily asset management professional with strong analytical capabilities, organizational leadership experience, and a high degree of integrity. This individual must excel at stakeholder influence, demonstrate sound judgment, communicate effectively, and uphold fiduciary responsibility while identifying creative ways to grow asset value and operational performance.
Vice President – Asset Management Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Real Estate, Finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 12+ years of industry experience
• 7+ years’ experience mentoring and developing team members
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with property management and financial reporting systems preferred.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required and to walk job sites for periodic reviews.
