Amazon Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, Electrical Engineering in Boston, Massachusetts

The Global Energy Sustainability & Automation Electrical Engineering team is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to oversee the installation and upgrade of electrical power systems at facilities in North America. In this role, the TIPM will be responsible for managing the full
lifecycle of electrical distribution upgrades from project identification though implementation.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a deep understanding of electrical power systems with demonstrated experience in strategy, design, construction, and maintenance. The individual plays a critical role in our organization’s commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical distribution systems.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Identify sites and develop conceptual designs for the upgrades of low voltage and medium voltage
electrical distribution systems.
- Partner with outside electrical engineering firms and electrical contractors to implement the solution
compliant with existing Amazon and relevant industry standards
Perform project estimates and financial return on investment calculations
Secure and oversee funding of projects/programs
Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Support operations; construction; and other relevant departments with product development and testing
Conduct equipment failure investigation and provide mitigation solutions
Monitor trends in electrical system reports, and escalate as necessary to drive improvements; or immediate corrective actions to electrical systems
50% Travel to facilities across North America
3-4 weeks annually of 24/7 on-call electrical engineering support
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or experience working in electrical engineering field
5+ years of distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent mechanical or electrical field experience
Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers
In-depth knowledge of power system analysis tools and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering, Reliability, Quality Management, or similar applicable field.
Experience managing complex electrical power system projects in a variety of industries
Extensive knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance Planning, CMMS, and Enterprise Asset Management tools.
Success developing metric suites and applying facts/data to drive process improvement.
Experience defining and owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership independently with limited guidance. .

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
