What you'll be doing
CIBC Private Wealth’s Multi-Manager Investment Program (MMIP) team provides tailored investment solutions for high-net-worth clients, families, foundations, and institutions by leveraging expertise across asset classes and a collaborative culture. As a Senior Investment Associate, you’ll support the MMIP team by conducting due diligence on investment managers, monitoring performance, and managing operational processes. You’ll prepare research and analytical reports to inform investment decisions and work closely with Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers to deliver sound investment management and advisory services. You’ll contribute to the development of educational and marketing materials to support business growth, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of investment strategies. Your entrepreneurial approach and commitment to continuous improvement will help drive superior outcomes for our clients.
To successfully perform the work, you will be on-site full-time.
How you'll succeed
Manager due diligence – Conduct qualitative and quantitative due diligence on existing investment strategies to ensure robust evaluation and oversight. Support research on new investment managers to enhance available solutions for clients.
Research and reporting – Prepare analytical studies, reports, and presentations that support the MMIP team’s objectives. Gather and synthesize data to deliver actionable insights for investment decisions.
Client and business development support – Provide up-to-date manager information to Relationship Managers and Business Development Officers. Develop educational and marketing materials to support business development initiatives.
Operational excellence – Assist internal teams with operational processes to ensure effective execution of investment strategies. Collaborate with operations, compliance, and legal teams to support seamless investment implementation and oversight.
Team collaboration – Contribute to a strong organizational culture through effective teamwork and communication. Foster superior client and employee engagement by supporting cross-functional initiatives.
Who you are
Education and experience – You have a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant financial services experience, with a preference for investment research, portfolio analysis, & due diligence. It is considered a plus if you intend to sit for, are eligible to sit for, or currently hold a CFA or CAIA designation.
Detail oriented – You know that details matter. You notice things that others don’t and understand that an accurate foundation sets up the team for success.
Analytical – You give meaning to data. You have strong problem-solving skills, can identify and quantify problems, and provide effective resolutions. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
Technologically savvy – You are proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as financial data software such as FactSet, Bloomberg, and Morningstar. Quantitative skillset in automation and coding (python) is a plus.
Effective time manager – You accurately prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $100,000 - $120,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
