Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, passionate, and motivated scientist to join our Process and Analytical Development team. This role will provide analytical assay development, optimization, and routine testing of AAV viral vectors. The ideal candidate will have experience with characterizing AAV viral vectors, executing analytical assays, working collaboratively, and preparing necessary technical documents. The successful candidate will have a desire to succeed at the highest level to develop gene therapies for patients.
Job Responsibilities:
Understands and follows all relevant policies relating to this job including business, compliance, regulatory, quality, environmental, and safety expectations. Makes sound technical decisions and appropriately communicates these decisions to other scientists and management.
Efficiently and effectively manage project deliverables to provide support for multiple projects at multiple phases. May serve as the project lead for one or multiple projects within the area.
Demonstrates technical excellence at performing and assessing multiple analytical methods.
Displays comprehensive knowledge of instrument set-up, operation, and troubleshooting (e.g., AUC, Bioassay, ELISA, Vector Genome Titer).
Perform routine analytical and in vitro bioassays to characterize product quality, strength, and potency.
Document analysis according to good documentation practices in electronic laboratory notebooks or other documentation methods such as test data worksheets or other prescribed methods.
Principal responsibilities will include routine testing (approximately 70% effort) while additional responsibilities will include development projects (approximately 30% effort).
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications:
B.S. in life sciences with 4-6 years of industry experience or M.S. in life sciences with 2-3 years of industry experience.
Proficiency with in-vitro bioassay techniques and instrumentation for vector transduction, ddPCR, ELISA.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision after initial training.
Ability to troubleshoot and interpret experimental results and effectively present conclusions.
Significant attention to detail and accuracy in following and executing experimental protocols.
Well-organized, goal-focused, and detail-oriented.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with aseptic techniques for mammalian cell culture and analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC) is a plus.
Strong desire to learn multiple techniques and a willingness to provide support.
Ability to set priorities and multi-task activities to effectively manage workflows and deliverables.
