Robert Half Payroll Accountant in Boston, Massachusetts
Description
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will manage payroll operations for a workforce of over 300 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with multi-state payroll regulations. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with HR and other departments to support payroll processes.
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll for over 300 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Review and reconcile employee timesheets to guarantee timely approval by managers.
• Prepare payroll data for bonuses, commissions, and benefit payments.
• Handle requests related to expense reimbursements, commuter benefits, and Life Spending Account payments.
• Register new state jurisdictions for employees and coordinate state tax filings with the tax team.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HR to verify benefit and direct deposit setups for new team members.
• Manage quarterly and year-end payroll closings, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations across multiple states.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and multi-state payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of bi-weekly payroll processes and Excel.
• Ability to handle payroll tasks for a large workforce.
• Experience with payroll-related tax registrations and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to address employee inquiries.
• Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in payroll reconciliation.
• Availability to work on-site 2-3 days per week, with Thursdays required.
