The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

The Newbury Center provides programming, resources, community, and support for first-generation undergraduates, graduates, and professional students at Boston University. The Newbury Center collaborates with a broad range of constituents, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni; and is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where creativity, flexibility, and collaboration are essential. The Office Manager's essential functions include managing the Newbury Centers day-to-day operations, budget/financial management, supervising graduate and undergraduate student employees, general office administration, managing event logistics, and special projects as needed. Successful candidates will be professional, able to work independently, exercise good judgement, personable, and quick to learn. This position reports to the Executive Director of the Newbury Center and is a 100% on-campus position .

Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience required. Training and vocational skills can substitute for experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to write well and deal effectively and diplomatically with various constituencies. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing the most urgent, work independently to anticipate office and directors' business needs, set priorities in consultation with others, and handle sensitive/confidential information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience supervising students; basic accounting skills; advanced event management experience; technical skills, such as newsletter and survey creation; and the ability to research information, e.g., first-generation programs at other institutions, are preferred. A demonstrated commitment to expanding ones cultural competency and knowledge of issues that first-generation students from diverse backgrounds encounter throughout their educational experience is also strongly desired. Some evenings and weekend work will be required, but not regularly.
