CBRE Mobile Building Technician in Boston, Massachusetts
About the Opportunity:
Join CBRE as a skilled Mobile Building and HVAC Technician! This exciting role supports a major telecommunications client, providing essential maintenance and repair services across multiple retail sites. You’ll be part of a dynamic team focused on driving efficiency and ensuring the smooth operation of our retail sites.
What You'll Do:
HVAC Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems including troubleshooting, component replacement, and optimization.
Plumbing & Electrical Maintenance: Handle basic plumbing tasks (like clearing drains and repairing P-traps) and perform minor electrical repairs (such as changing ballasts).
Preventative Maintenance & Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance of building systems.
Work Order Management: Efficiently manage and complete assigned work orders, estimating time and materials needed and tracking progress.
Energy Management: Implement energy-saving measures for peak efficiency in all systems.
Code Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to building codes and safety regulations.
Client Communication: Collaborate effectively with clients, co-workers, and supervisors to address inquiries and provide updates.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and repair reports.
What You'll Bring:
Education & Experience: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma; 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
HVAC Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
EPA Certification: EPA Universal certification is required.
Plumbing & Electrical Skills: Basic plumbing and electrical experience, including the ability to clear drains and perform minor electrical tasks.
Physical Requirements: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting/carrying heavy loads (50 lbs. or more).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to follow work routines.
Communication & Organization: Excellent communication and organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for calculating percentages, discounts, and markups.
Licensing: Valid Driver’s License required.

What You’ll Need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
4+ years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls.
Proficient using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and/or industrial electronics.
Ability to conduct preventative & procedure-based maintenance.
Experience reading blueprints and schematics.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.
3+ years of work order management.
Ability to use and interpret statistical equipment to run metrics such as OEE/Up Time to prioritize accordingly.
Ability to solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations such as; routine maintenance, repairs, preventative measures, emergency responses, coordination, and safety compliance.
Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.
PreferredQualifications
Associate’s or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
Previous leadership experience.
Previous vendor management experience.
Experience with robotic maintenance.
Experience with CMMS
Certification preferred in one or more of the following: electronic, electrical, mechanical, access control servers, PLCs, process controls, robotics, or mechanical power transmissions.

The minimum salary for the Mobile HVAC Technician position is $22.00 per hour, and the maximum salary is $35.00 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their individual skills, qualifications, and experience.
