Assistant Nursing Director – Cardiovascular Institute Operating Room (CVI OR)

The Assistant Nursing Director (AND) plays a key leadership role overseeing daily operations, supporting high‑performing clinical teams, and ensuring exceptional patient care across complex cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
Oversee daily CVI OR operations and patient flow.
Coordinate cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and IP surgical schedules.
Partner with PACU, Pre‑Op, and CVICU to optimize perioperative planning.
Maintain a visible leadership presence to support staff and physicians.
Administrative & Strategic Support
Serve as a liaison across anesthesia, scheduling, central processing, and other departments.
Participate in Administrator‑on‑Call rotation.
Support block time planning, room assignments, and future scheduling.
Staffing & Workforce Management
Develop and manage daily and monthly staffing schedules.
Oversee vacation, holiday, and payroll processes.
Support onboarding and clinical experiences for new hires, students, and travelers.
Team Development & Performance
Conduct annual performance evaluations.
Promote professional growth, engagement, and evidence‑based practice.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence.
Required Qualifications
Education: BSN required; MSN preferred
Licensure: Active RN license; BLS certification
Experience: 3–5 years relevant clinical experience; up to 1 year leadership or charge experience
Skills: Demonstrated leadership, strong communication, and critical thinking
Technical: Comfortable with clinical systems; proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access helpful)
Pay Range:
$150,000.00 USD - $220,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
