Job Information
Citizens Analyst, Sales Data and Reporting in Boston, Massachusetts
Description
Entry‑level analyst to support National Sales through hands‑on data work, reporting, and technical data preparation. This role reports directly to a senior business leader and is designed for someone early in their career who is interested in analytics and banking, and who understands that high‑quality analysis starts with accurate, well‑structured data.
The role is execution‑heavy by design. The analyst will spend most of their time working directly in the data: reconciling numbers, validating system outputs, building extracts and workflows, and following up on discrepancies across teams. Over time, and with guidance, the role will grow into more analytical and interpretive work.
Core responsibilities:
Data integrity and reconciliation
Reconcile sales, revenue, and fee data across internal systems
Investigate discrepancies and exceptions rather than passing them through
Follow up with partners in Finance, Product, Relationship Management, and Project Management to resolve data issues
Ensure clients, entities, and relationships are represented consistently and accurately across datasets
Data preparation and technical execution
Build and maintain data extracts for reporting and analysis
Develop and maintain data workflows and automation, including Alteryx where applicable
Structure raw data so it can be reliably used for downstream reporting and analysis
Document logic, assumptions, and transformations clearly
Reporting and support
Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for National Sales leadership
Support preparation of management materials using Excel and PowerPoint
Respond to data questions by tracing numbers back to source, not just re‑running reports
Learning and progression
Develop familiarity with banking data, sales structures, and performance metrics
Learn internal systems and data sources with support and coaching
Gradually take on more analytical responsibility, including identifying patterns, anomalies, and trends
Build judgment around when results “look wrong” and raise questions
Required qualifications:
A minimum of 2-5 years operations management, finance and/or accounting experience with a bank or commercial finance company
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an analytical, technical, or business‑related field
Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python, academic or professional
Strong attention to detail and a mindset oriented toward data accuracy
Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and concepts quickly
Clear interest in analytics and how data supports business decisions
Preferred qualifications:
Exposure to workflow automation or ETL‑style work
Familiarity with Tableau or other BI tools
Experience with Alteryx or similar tools (nice to have, not required)
Interest in financial services or commercial banking
