Fiber Optic Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
The Fiber Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks across multiple job sites. This role requires ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The technician follows all safety protocols and industry best practices while working on-site and during transit, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality network services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation of fiber splice enclosures
Onsite plant fiber optic cable slicing, to include both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber
Fusion Splicing
Unidirectional and bidirectional fiber testing
Light Level Testing, OLTS
Fiber troubleshooting and repair, test report generation.
Coordinate daily crew activities and work schedule
Maintaining a safe and quality work site and location
Maintain Fiber equipment and tools
Daily inspection of all equipment assigned to crew
Maintain daily production rates
Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner and according to company safety and OSHA practices
