Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Record information about crops such as pesticide use, yields, or costs; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and postharvest treatment of crops; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment for watering crops; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as rice, corn, soybeans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employers fields, load employers crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Regulate conditions; Feel plants\' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh\ containers and record weights and identifying information; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers; speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 6 workers to begin March 1 and 2 workers to begin Sept 1.
