A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FULL TIME PASTRY COOK:
The expectations of a
Pastry Cookincludescaling, production, and execution of pastry mixes, fillings, individual desserts, frozen desserts, cookies and bars, pies and cakes, and doughs and breads. As a Pastry Cook, you will understand the importance of time management, the quality of each dessert item, and your overall work ethic. The ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on production demands, is required. You will maintain consistent production of Breads, laminated doughs and breakfast pastries, ensuring all items meet established quality and presentation standards. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for managing pastry station operations during service, including station setup, ingredient preparation, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
Estimated Schedule:
- In season: Available 5-6 days per week as business demands.
- Shoulder season: Available 5+ days per week as business demands.
- Off-season: 35+ hours per week as business demands.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience
- ACF Certification is preferred but not required
- Must continue to expand culinary ability
- Must possess a sense of desire to satisfy member's requests
- Motivated to get the job done no matter what obstacles appear
- Must be service-orientated, possess great attention to detail, and have a strong desire to succeed
- Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to pass a drug test
