What Customer Service Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Customer Service is responsible for establishing, maintaining and enhancing customer business through contract administration, customer orders, and problem resolution.
Responsible for providing outsourced services to customers relating to medical billing, medical reimbursement, and/or other services by acting as a liaison in problem-solving, research and problem/dispute resolution.
Job Summary
The Representative II, Customer Service Operations will be responsible for processing and managing prior authorization requests to ensure timely and accurate approval from insurance carriers. This role requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of insurance policies, and an ability to work with various healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Responsibilities
Determine whether prior authorization is required based on insurance policy guidelines.
Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests to insurance companies and healthcare providers to ensure timely approvals.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance companies to clarify any issues, obtain necessary information, and resolve authorization-related concerns.
Document and track all prior authorization requests and updates in the system
Qualifications
Completed minimum of two (2) years of college education or SHS Graduate
At least one (1) year of BPO customer service experience doing inbound calls
Strong oral and written communication skills
Communicates clearly and professionally
Demonstrates active listening and customer engagement
Able to work in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating urgency and effective multitasking
Amenable to night shift work
